Rhinestone Braiding Bands

Show season is upon us and if you’re anything like me, you are looking for the latest and greatest!  I love to make my horse stand out (even more than he does already from his natural beauty ha!).  I won’t lie…I am a rhinestone girl.  The more sparkle the better!  So when I find things to add a little sparkle to my horse I’m all for it.

I completely drooled when I came across these EQuest Mähnenringe Crystal braiding bands.  I have only been able to find them for sale in Europe so far and that does not deter me from ordering.  I have ordered items from Europe in the past and have always been satisfied (although be prepared for shipping to take a while).

The glittering crystal Regular Mahnenringe bring your horse’s mane in the tournament, show, or presentation of the sparkle. Simply the ponytail as usual with normal Mahnengummis and then weave the elastic Crystal Mahnenringe on the plaits plug – done! Diameter approx. 1.5 cm. From two rows white road-stones.

Mane & Tail Bling

Mane & Tail Bling by Pony Bling™ allows riders to add just the right amount of sparkle to their horse’s mane or tail (or even the rider’s hair) by adding some or all of the crystal embellished elastic bands.  Add a little bling to your braiding job by accenting each braid with Mane & Tail Bling!  Each reuseable tin contains 30 no-rip elastic bands embellished with clear Swarovski® crystals.  Our no-rip elastics are strong enough for repeated use. Simply remove, wash with liquid dish soap and dry!  Available in 12 colors!  Get them at The Haughty Horse.

Hi, I have come across this website and LOVE the crystal braiding bands. I live in Europe but I can’t find these anywhere. Can you please tell me where I can find them? My little mare would look fantastic going out to shows with these 🙂

Unfortunately usef has ruled these are not show legal.

They would be fun in schooling shows though.

I saw the small ones in use by several ponies at an A rated show in Scottsdale last year. Does the USEF monitor hunter/jumper shows?

YOU can use them as long as they’re not deemed excessive… wore them in a freestyle and it was fine. 😉

Hi, I ran across Velvet Rider’s great description. We put together an FAQ regarding if these are legal or not. In all hunter/jumper disciplines, including A-rated shows and derbies, our products are legal. As for dressage—it’s subjective. The rule is open for interpretation but you’ll want to speak to the TD. We know of one top-rated derby rider who wears our mane bling and magnets for the competition number. A lot people enjoy just using some small accents for subtlety and fun.

I was recently at the Lake Placid Horse Show and saw all kinds of red, white, and blue embellishments on the mane for the 4th of July. It all looked tasteful, not distracting, but fun!

Wore some in my MFS at the finals…. we won, no issues! TD said as long as it wasn’t excessive we were ok. 🙂
