If you know me or have been following Velvet Rider for long, you know that I am absolutely in love with the elbow patch trend happening right now. I think it’s such a fun detail and when it’s done with a contrasting color, it’s even better! A company that is doing this trend in a fabulous way is Asmar Equestrian. I recently received two of their new items in their spring line and talk about gorgeous! They are the Merino Wool Vneck top and the Merino Wool Polo.
First, let me just talk about the color of the Merino Wool Vneck. I have it in Caribbean and it’s BEAUTIFUL! It’s the perfect color for spring and such a fantastic shade of blue. Blue is one of my favorite colors so I was thrilled when I saw this shade in person. It’s so bright and fun. The weight of this top is perfect as well as it is very lightweight. You can easily wear it alone or layered. It does have a longer length which is perfect for us taller girls. It won’t hit in an odd spot and can easily be tucked into breeches to wear while riding. Or, wear it out for every day wear. That is how I styled it, and it will look great with jeans or dress pants. It is made of merino wool so it breathes very well.
I love the V-neck on this shirt too. It’s not too low but ultra feminine. I absolutely adore the Asmar patch. It gives it a cool, preppy vibe.
The Merino Wool VNeck is available in Cobalt, Caribbean, Coal, and Parchment.
Ahhh these elbow patches! The perfect contrasting color with the Caribbean!
I also received the Asmar Merino Wool Polo in Coal which is a fabulous color in person. It has really fun contrast stitching in pink. It’s super light weight, and the fit is flattering! It will look great on a variety of body types. As I’ve said before and will keep saying, Asmar Equestrian knows how to fit and style their clothes for a flattering, chic look. They are top of the line for me and it’s superb. The polo features 5 buttons down the front which I think is great. It’s something different from the traditional 2-3 buttons. It has a buttoned pocket on the left for an added style factor. I really like the thicker hem at the bottom so it will look great tucked in or out. Again, this piece is easily ready for the barn or the street, and we all need these transitional pieces. Being an equestrian is a lifestyle, not just a hobby. The polo also comes in Caribbean, Cobalt, and Coal. I love the Asmar tag on the sleeve too.
These two pieces can easily be worn separately, but they also look fabulous together!
The result is a polished, feminine look with a touch of equestrian inspiration. Add some fun accessories and you’re all set!
